Room Lyrics & Liner Notes

Puppet Therapy Album

Obsessive Compulsive

Isn’t it funny how we lose ourselves?
When we’re in the mood?
You sing me your new song, I paint a picture until dawn

Obsessive compulsive by nature
Obsessive compulsive by nature

Catching the stars in our hands, making plans
Burning free

We find ourselves again… making plans
Making it better in the end… we make ammends
Seasons change, seasons change
You’ll be the silken rope wrapped around my heart
Right from the start
Yeah! Right from the very start

Obsessive compulsive by nature
Obsessive compulsive by nature
Obsessive compulsive by nature
Obsessive compulsive by nature
Yeah – it’s in the proof!
I love it when you look at me that way

Obsessive compulsive by nature yes I am

There was something in the room that wasn’t quite right
We were feelin’ it so we dimmed the light
There was nothin’ more and nothin’ less
So I looked at her, I was feelin’ blessed
So I think of that and I think of this
Ruminating now on the heavenly bliss
And the human mind has a fucked up face
Obsessive compulsive all over the place!

Come on! Yeah… Right on! Yeah brother!

Now you buy a painting, and I buy a painting
That’s cool… we’re down
I gotta have this, and you gotta do that
Yeah… I’m in the room… You’re in the room
We’re in the room… obsessing
Compulsive

That’s cool… I can do that!
I wouldn’t have it any other way

Obsessive compulsive by nature
Obsessive compulsive

Influences for this track

“Well I gotta say without the album American Dream by LCD Sound system and specifically the track Other Voices, this song wouldn’t exist!

I’d never listened to them much but I saw a poster while I was driving along one day and I thought… I wonder what that was. Ended up loving the album.

I loved the driving 80’s influenced bass and the near talking vocals and this seemed to suit Cheries OCD lyrics. She wrote the first section and then I responded with my attempt at 80’s rap and final lyrics. It was fun to make this track!”
