Room Lyrics & Liner Notes
Puppet Therapy Album
Better Days
The wind blows high and I am
Thinking only of you
And every kind of make-believe
Seems like only the truth
Let’s make a rhyme and find it
Oh so easy to sing
And you and I we make our lives come together and then
(And then) I find better days with you
(And then) I find better days in this room
(And then) I find better days with you
(And then) I find better days in this room
The wind blows kind and feels like
Heaven straddling earth
And we feel fine and stand there
With our feet in the earth
We sit and watch each other
It’s the easiest thing
The precious harvest comes down
And I’m starting to sing
(And then) I find better days with you
(And then) I find better days in this room
(And then) I find better days with you
(And then) I find better days in this room
We travelled days and I am
Feeling comfortably numb
And what you say is so real
As we’re startin’ to run
The stereo and Neil Young
As we happily sing
And I’m feeling, that’s right
Like I’m starting to win
Liner Notes
Influences for this track
” The acoustic guitar is influenced by the Neil Young song Old Man, although a lot simpler. I could never play like he does on that track, but I wanted it to be a tribute to him, in a way. The lyric makes reference to Neil as well, kind of making it obvious.
Once the song was basically done, I was struggling to find a lead part. I was listening to Kurt Vile at the time and loving the track Bassakwards. As I was driving along one day listening to the unfinished track, the thought popped into my head ‘how about backwards guitar?’
It worked! So there you go.”
